Walking with Purpose (WWP) is a Catholic women's apostolate that strives to lead hearts to Christ by getting to know Him in Scripture.
The heart of our apostolate is our Bible study program for adult women. Our program welcomes all women irrespective of faith background, age, or stage of life. The program incorporates at-home Scripture study, weekly small group discussion, and monthly talks on relevant study material.
Whether you are a seasoned seeker of spiritual truths or embarking on your first exploration, we all need guidance that meets us where we are with practical wisdom. Our Bible studies provide relevant content that takes timeless truths from Scripture and applies them to daily life.
In addition to our 15 week study, we will host two stand alone evening book clubs.
WWP is an opportunity to make authentic connections with other women, refuel and refresh, and learn more about God. We start with refreshments and conversation, promise to end on time, and you’re always welcome to bring a friend!
Walking with Purpose" is a women's ministry that offers Bible studies designed to help women grow closer to Jesus Christ and deepen their relationship with Him. It's not about physical walking, but rather about applying biblical truths to everyday life and finding meaning and purpose through faith. The program uses personal study and small group discussions to connect scripture with real-life challenges.
Walking with purpose is a Bible study program which aims to help women understand and apply biblical teachings to their lives. It emphasizes developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding of His love and mercy. It fosters a supportive community of women who journey together in faith while linking everyday challenges to solutions found in scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church. It’s much more than a bible study; it’s a place where women can share their struggles, find encouragement, and grow in their faith.
Saint Patrick Parish has offered a Walking with Purpose scripture study for many years. For new participants this year, our group welcomes you to Opening Your Heart: The Starting Point.
We will explore the core questions that we need to wrestle with if we want to experience all that God has for us.
How can I conquer my fears?
What is the role of the Holy Spirit in my life?
What does the Eucharist have to do with my friendship with Christ?
What are the limits of Christ’s forgiveness?
Why and how should I pray?
What is the role of suffering in my life?
What challenges will I face in my efforts to follow Jesus more closely?
Our advanced study this year is Rooted and Radiant. This study will focus on the book of Colossians as we seek to understand the challenges that faced the Colossians, recognizing that they are remarkably similar to our own. We will dive deep into understanding who Jesus is and what that means for us. How to abide in the wisdom of Christ to navigate the ever-increasing demands and messages of our culture, and what it means to live in the freedom of Christ, continually setting our minds on Him. We will:
Know Jesus as He is
Know how to stay faithful in a culture that is constantly telling us that Christ is not enough
Know how to sift through the modern messages that are being thrown at you
Be able to compare the glamour of the world to the infinite value of “being in Christ”
Both studies will meet on Thursdays from 9:30am-11:30am beginning September 25th in the Parish Office Building at 41 Oliver Street. (Please enter at the Washington Avenue door.)
